1. Who Provides the Service
The Korbis app (the "app") is operated by Martin Tříska, natural person, Všerubská 1268/5d, 155 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic ("we"). Contact: podpora@korbis.cz.
2. What Korbis Is
Korbis is an educational app for children aged 6–11 focused on practising mathematics and Czech and preparing for school entrance exams, designed for Apple devices running iOS and distributed through the App Store. Some features depend on Apple services (e.g. Sign in with Apple or in-app purchases). The app adapts exercise difficulty to the child's progress. Korbis is a study aid – it does not replace school instruction and does not guarantee exam results.
Using the app requires a compatible Apple device, a supported iOS version and an internet connection; current requirements are listed in the App Store.
3. Contract and Account
- These terms apply between us and the parent (legal guardian) from the moment the parent, in the parent section of the app (behind the parental gate), confirms having reviewed these terms and makes the account available to the child.
- The app can be used with an anonymous account (no email). The progress of an anonymous account is generally tied to the device; without linking the account it usually cannot be recovered if the device is lost or replaced.
- A parent may link the account to an email address or Apple ID – progress can then be transferred to a new device. Linking changes nothing about the account's data; it only adds a sign-in method.
- A child's account is managed by a parent or legal guardian; a child's use of the app requires prior parental consent (see the Privacy Policy).
- Parental settings, account linking and any future purchases are available only behind the parental gate.
- You may use the account only in accordance with these terms and applicable law.
4. Content and Pricing
- All educational content is available free of charge. No lesson or skill sits behind a paywall.
- Free use may be subject to a daily practice volume limit (energy). The limit is consumed solely by completed activity, never by mistakes.
- We may in the future offer an optional subscription (e.g. unlimited daily volume). Purchase will be possible exclusively in the parent section behind a parental gate, as an in-app purchase through the App Store (including Apple "Ask to Buy" support), and will also be governed by Apple's terms for purchases and subscription management. Cancellation is always available in Apple ID settings.
- The app contains no advertising; purchase screens appear only in the parent section behind the parental gate, never in the child-facing part of the app.
5. Intellectual Property
App content (exercises, texts, illustrations, audio, software) is protected by copyright. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes within the app.
6. Availability and Changes to the Service
We develop the service continuously – features may change, be added, or removed. For as long as we provide the service, we will provide updates necessary for the app to remain in conformity with the contract and to function securely, to the extent required by applicable law. Temporary limitations may occur, especially for maintenance or security reasons. This does not affect consumer rights regarding defective performance or any other rights that cannot be excluded under Czech law. Should we decide to discontinue the service, we will notify parents in advance and enable data export.
7. Termination
- A parent may delete the account at any time (request to podpora@korbis.cz; progressively also directly in the app). Deletion removes data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend an account that seriously violates these terms (e.g. attempts to compromise service security). Where the nature of the violation allows, we will first warn the parent and provide a reasonable opportunity to remedy; we will inform the parent of the suspension and its reason at the contact email, if one is on record.
8. Liability
We are liable to the extent provided by law. We are not liable for outages or limitations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control that we could not prevent even with reasonable care. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights arising from mandatory provisions of Czech law or liability that cannot be contractually excluded.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Disputes are resolved by the competent Czech courts. Consumers may contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz) for out-of-court dispute resolution and may also use the EU online dispute resolution platform, where available: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may reasonably amend these terms, in particular in response to changes in law, app features, the way the service is provided, or for security reasons. We will notify parents of material changes with reasonable advance notice in the app and on this page; each version of the terms will state its effective date. Amended terms apply from the stated effective date to the further provision of the service. If a parent disagrees with a change, they may stop using the service before that date and request account deletion; statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy.
